President’s Message

Greetings Puppet Guild Members,

I can’t believe the year is almost over. We had a delicious chili supper. Our National Day of Puppetry was a huge success. We had over 500 people. I want to thank the Missouri History Museum, our performers, workshop leaders, and members to came out to volunteer and support the event. Thanks to Gerry & Ginny, we had a great picnic without the ants! All that is left now is our annual fundraiser June 18th.

I’m proud to say that September begins my 4th term as your president. I’m happy to tell you that I just recently met with Diane White of the Carousel House. She and I have scheduled a joint fundraiser on September 30th. Peppy Puppet Troupe (Stan & Michelle) has graciously agreed to perform and Ginny, Pat, and Jackie have agreed to do three separate workshops.

I have the first four meetings scheduled that will end out the calendar year, so mark your calendars.

Thursday, September 22nd Thornhill Library
Friday, October 21st Carousel House
Saturday, November 19th Buder Library
Friday, December 16th Lewis & Clark Boathouse

This is Jackie’s last newsletter. Tom Bonham will be taking over in September. Jackie will become the treasurer as Stan steps down. Thanks to all the officers who served the past two years. Michelle is still our grant writer.

I’ll see you at the June Fundraiser. Have a great summer.

Papa” Wright, President

Greetings Puppet Guild Members,

I’ve been observing guild members and I’m very happy with the progress they are making with their puppet businesses. Great! Keep up the good work.

I think everyone wants the best for the guild and it shows. Talked to Paul Mesner when he was performing here last month and he
complimented our guild. We are thriving while some other guilds are struggling. So I want to thank everyone for keeping our guild strong.

I look forward to our annual Chili Supper, National Day of Puppetry, and Picnic and Auction.

If you have fundraising ideas, talk with Joy Nack and “Digger” Romano.

Thank all of you for your support and your commitment to the guild.
“Papa” Wright, President
